John French
Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist John French was born in Kentucky, raised in Texas and Tennessee, John has lived in small towns all across the south and often writes about those influences in his music. He started writing lyrics early, at the age of 13, and taught himself to play the guitar 3 years later. It was a natural progression to combine those lyrics with his own guitar playing style. Over the years, John has built a large repertoire of original music which consists of a unique combination of Americana, bluegrass, and folk.
In 1996, John co-wrote a song on the rockabilly band the 'V-Roys' debut release "Just Add Ice". Co-produced by Steve Earle on E-Squared Records, the band was a regional favorite on the east coast and around their hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee. As a result, John became a published member of BMI music and has performed as a solo artist for a number of years.
Currently recording in Orlando, FL at the studio of internationally known songwriter and musician Bob Rafkin, John will release his debut CD's available in 2011. As well as performing solo, he is joined in live performances with his talented friends, Joe Ramirez on the acoustic 5 string bass guitar, Paul Smithson on mandolin, guitar and vocals, and Larry Ziegenfuss on violin. Steve Waters on guitar and vocals rounds out his band currently known as the "French Connection".
