Backintyme
Ron and Joanne Whisler and Carol Taktikian met in Orlando area while jamming with other old time musicians. One weekend Carol
was invited to the Whisler home to spend the night because they were playing at the Barberville Pioneer Settlement Spring
Festival with another group and the drive was farther from her house. That evening they started jamming and decided to record some tracks and were surprised and delighted with what they heard and
decided to take it further and start the "Just In Time" band.
Frank and Mary Lee Sweet perform as Backintyme. Wearing period dress of the 1860s Civil War era, they perform
nineteenth century songs and anecdotes.
Frank plays the banjo in the classical style of the time and Mary Lee "rattles the bones", keeps time with tamborine,
Irish bodhran drum, or beats on the old jawbone (of a donkey.)
History will come alive as you hear the popular songs of the nineteenth century, performed as they were written,
by song writers Stephen Foster, George Root, Henry Clay Work and others. Sing along to favorites like Oh Susanna,
Camptown Races and Grandfather's Clock. Tap your feet to the lively music of nonsense songs, patriotic songs and
gospel tunes, or enjoy the gentle love ballads of nineteenth century America.
