Halifax Rowing Association is delighted to be featured Saturday, Nov 19 and Sunday, Nov 20. The days events will include Ergometer (Rowing Machine) races and demonstrations, Sweep and Sculling Sprint races viewable from the shore and the pavilions, information and history of the club and hands on viewing of a Sweep boat. The public will have an opportunity to try a 8 person sweep boat, as well as an individual scull. Wear snug shorts and t-shirts if you would like to participate! Rowing will be available from 9 am to 1 pm both days.

Halifax Rowing Association, Inc. (HRA) is located in beautiful Daytona Beach, Florida. Situated in the park on City Island, our rowing venue is the Intracoastal Waterway known as the “Halifax River” which provides a rowing course in either direction for many miles.

We are truly privileged to row in such a beautiful environment - it is not unusual to see multiple dolphins jumping and manatees gliding during one of our early morning rows!

Learn to Row Day is held annually in May. This years event was Saturday, May 30 and was a great success! Participants of all ages tried the ergometer rowing machines, the 8 person sweep rowing and the individual sculling. Learn to row day led to our "Summer Sweep" and "Sculling" programs which will complete on July 24 - just in time for participants to join our HRA Regatta on July 25!

In addition to our vibrant master's program, our boathouse is also home to the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Rowing Club (ERAU) that competes on a collegiate level. Coach Paul Quinn is already talking with athletes about his fall program.

HRA caters to rowers at all levels and in all age groups, from beginner and recreational rowers to competitive athletes in the high school, collegiate and Masters categories. The club is constantly recruiting new members, hosts its own regatta every summer and stages a number of rowing programs throughout the year.

See our website at http://www.halifaxrowing.org/ for more details and information about our club.
