Saturday November 16 (10AM-6PM)

Sunday November 17 (11AM-4PM)

Rockefeller Gardens & Fortunato Park
Riverside Drive, Ormond Beach

Welcome to the 5th Annual Ormond Beach Riverfest Seafood Festival, a community celebration of all things water! Whether you love getting out in water or just sitting back and enjoying the view with a plate of fresh seafood, Riverfest has something to love. Admission is free. There
will be music all day long on the main stage, plenty to eat and lots of vendors. This much anticipated event draws more than 5,000 area residents and visitors every year.

This year the festival runs Saturday, November 16 from 10 am – 6 pm and Sunday, November 17 from 11 am – 4 pm. Free admission and free parking make it easy to enjoy the great variety of planned activities.

Rockefeller Gardens will be dedicated to food and music. A dozen food vendors will offer up seafood in all its forms including an oyster bar from Riptides Restaurant, crab cakes from Crabby Chris, seafood pad Thai from Song Kran and fresh fried fish from Super Grouper along with a host of others. For meat eaters Oxie returns with a whole pit roasted pig along with hot dog vendors, hamburger wagons and maybe even a gyro stand.

NEW TO THE FESTIVAL THIS YEAR
is the Black Crow Media Cooking Stage. Cooking demonstrations will go on during both days. Headlining the demonstrations will be cookbook author and Orlando Sentinel food editor, Heather McPherson. A past president of the Association of Food Journalists, Ms. McPherson has written two cookbooks, including Barbecue! Great Ideas for Backyard Get-Togethers, and has edited four others, including The Florida Cookbook: A Lighter Look at Southern Cooking. She specializes in making use of local products and will demonstrate a cooking style that uses the best that Florida has to offer. Local chefs, including Costa Magoulas, Dean of the Daytona State College culinary program and Bobby Frappier, owner and executive chef at Frappes North, will also demonstrate during the Festival.

On Sunday, the Festival Stage will feature “A1A-The Official and Original Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band”. The band, which is sanctioned by Buffett to perform his music, puts on a boisterous, family-friendly show that includes original music as well as favorites and is sure to put the party in a Key West mood. Local musicians will grace the stage on Saturday, providing a great soundtrack for the Festival.

Across Granada in Fortunato Park there will be lots of water activities for the whole family. Demonstrations, rides and lessons are being offered by 3 Brothers Paddle Boards, the Halifax Sailing Association and Odyssey Adventure Club. Folks who want to ride the waves, but not get wet, can head to the Kid’s Zone and try out the Water Ball area where you can jump inside a plastic bubble and surf the kiddy pool. Young fishermen can try out the Halifax Fishing Association’s Fishing Zone where they can learn to bait a hook, throw a line and give fishing a try.

Also in the Kids Zone you’ll find a live mermaid waiting to greet you. Strap on a tail and have your picture taken!

This year’s Festival Sunday afternoon finale will be a Duck Race, co-sponsored by Ormond Beach MainStreet and Temple Israel. The fundraiser will feature thousands of numbered rubber ducks. Sponsor a duck with a donation, then watch it race down the river to the finish line.
Winning ducks bring their sponsors cash prizes. Ducks can be “purchased” in advance for $5 each from either organization or at any time during the festival. Tickets available at: https://riverfestduckrace.eventbrite.com
